Objective and motivation behind the development:
corr3ax is designed to provide digital photographers, who predominantly work with fixed-camera systems, with complete perspective control over their images.
The movements of a view camera allow the photographer to create proportionally accurate representations that correspond to natural human vision. Projective transformation of the digital image along all three axes corresponds to the adjustment capabilities of a view camera. Automatic perspective correction is intended to eliminate the need for shift lenses.

This is made possible because corr3ax is the first solution to comprehensively utilize accelerometer data and lens property data recorded by modern professional cameras. Lenses of different focal lengths, including zoom lenses, are taken into account. In addition to automatic perspective correction, manual adjustment of the third axis (Yaw) enables a virtual change of perspective.
The photo world of distorted perspectives and unnaturally proportioned subjects should become a thing of the past.
The innovative corr3ax application is the result of a collaboration between three experts:
Driven by a creative dissatisfaction with the limitations of perspective control in digital photography, professional photographer Detlef Grosspietsch carried out the fundamental research and developed the inventions behind the projective transformation of digital images, supported by Prof. Dr. C. Wöhler. Detlef Grosspietsch learned photography from the ground up. He completed formal training as a photographer and later earned the German Master Craftsman qualification in photography. He further expanded his expertise by studying photographic engineering. For decades, Detlef Grosspietsch worked as a professional photographer for renowned publishers and industrial clients before focusing increasingly on innovation and his own creative photographic work.
In cooperation with JOBO, several of Detlef Grosspietsch’s key inventions were successfully patented. For more than 100 years, JOBO has stood for quality and reliability in the world of photography and has continuously focused on helping photographers achieve better images.
No matter how innovative an invention may be, it must ultimately be implemented in software in order to become a practical application. Software engineer Thorsten Lemke completes the team with his extensive software development expertise. One of Thorsten Lemke’s greatest achievements is the development of the graphics application "GraphicConverter". In the early days of digital photography, a multitude of RAW formats existed that were not supported by many software applications. GraphicConverter became well known for its ability to open and process virtually any image file format. As a result, Apple worked directly with Thorsten Lemke to ensure that Mac computers could natively support and decode a wide range of image formats.
